Coaching & Athletic Injury Prevention

If you are an athlete who wants to get in better shape to protect yourself against injury during the upcoming season, or, if you’re simply someone who wants to get in better shape by increasing muscle mass, losing bodyfat, and/or attain a healthier bodyweight, then this service is for you. I offer both 1-on-1 and small group coaching and athletic injury prevention training.

This service is intended for people who are not currently experiencing any pain or dysfunction. It is intended for people who are simply looking to get in better shape and/or get stronger to prevent an injury from occurring in the first place. This service does not include formal physical therapy, but instead focuses solely on strength and conditioning to help improve overall fitness. I still work individually with each client/group to help determine their goals prior to beginning to ensure that we work together to accomplish your goals!

What to Expect

The outcome of this service is an improvement in overall strength & conditioning, and a decrease in bodyfat. This improves overall body composition, and gives the client more confidence and strength to handle whatever demands life may throw at them. It allows the competitive athlete to go into their season with improved strength so that they are more resilient and robust against potential injury. This service will over-prepare your body for the demands placed on it during the upcoming season or everyday life so that you can own your life and live without having to worry about everyday activities and the toll they take on your body!

What you’ll Get

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room when it comes to 1-on-1 or small group training: intensity. For years, I’ve witnessed hundreds of personal training sessions that were completely wasted because the client isn’t even breathing hard or sweating by the end of the session. Instead, the client appeared to simply be paying for someone to talk to for half-an-hour.

While I thoroughly enjoy talking with people, I can assure you that if you’re paying me for a 1-on-1 or small group training/coaching service, I am going to ensure that our time is spent so that your workout contains adequate intensity for you to actually get stronger and get better. For you to get better, there has to be adequate intensity in your training. This is a non-negotiable, undisputed fact, and I intend on ensuring that intensity is there because I want you to get better! We can catch up on our small talk during the warm-up and cool-down :-).

Why Do Clients Choose To Work With Me?

Clients are happy with how I provide this service because I bring a unique perspective to 1-on-1 and small group coaching. Because I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I have a deeper understanding of the biomechanics of the human body compared to a traditional personal trainer. This allows me to better analyze, cue, and coach movement patterns to ensure that the client is getting the most out of their time with me and maximum value for their dollar. Furthermore, if you are injured, or if an injury develops over time, we can convert from athletic injury prevention/coaching to a formal physical therapy plan of care if needed. This versatility allows for a continuation of uninterrupted care for each client despite their injury status without the need for additional doctor’s visits and spending additional money to see another healthcare provider.
